Dianthus 'Maraschino' - Fruit Punch® Maraschino Dianthus

Maraschino Dianthus is a compact mat-forming evergreen perennial with blue-grey foliage and hairy stems.  Masses of fragrant double hot cherry red flowers with frilled edges bloom first in early summer, and again in early fall if deadheaded.  Blooms best in full sun and slightly alkaline, moist, and well-drained soil.  Heat, drought, and salt tolerant.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance.  Water regularly.  Deadhead to extend bloom.  Susceptible to rot and rust.  Crown rot may occur in poorly-drained soils.

LANDSCAPE USES:  Accents or Group Plantings, Borders, Woodland Garden, Rock Gardens, Foundational Plantings, and Containers.
