Campania’s Cast Iron Urns are made using traditional methods by way of smelting raw iron bricks in a blast furnace. Once liquified, the iron is poured into a sand-made mold to mature, a process known as sandcasting. Slowly, the iron cools and solidifies. The mold is then broken open and from it emerges a beautiful and unique new piece of garden decor. This elaborate process removes undesirable contaminants and neutralizes impurities in the material, all while retaining the natural, elemental aesthetic that gives our cast iron urns their inherent beauty. It is this beauty, along with the material’s durability, which has kept cast iron around for more than 2,500 years.
