Amethyst in Snow Bachelor Button is an erect clumping herbaceous perennial with grey-green lace-shaped foliage.  Solitary blooms of bicolor thistle-like flowers with white outer petals and rich purple inner petals bloom from mid spring into summer. Deadhead to encourage rebloom. Flowers best in full sun and dry to medium well-drained soils.  Very drought tolerant.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance.  Can spread rapidly in rich soils.  Occasional issues include rust, stem rot, mildew, and aster yellows.
LANDSCAPE USES:  Accents or Group Plantings, Borders, Naturalized Areas, Wildlife Garden, Rock Gardens, Foundation Plantings, and Containers.
