Solidago odora - Anise Scented Goldenrod

Anise Scented Goldenrod is a native herbaceous perennial with downy stems and aromatic dark green foliage with translucent spots.  Dense plume-like panicles of tiny yellow flowers that bloom in late summer into fall.  Best color with full sun and dry to medium well-drained soils.

Solidago odora is a host for several moths.  The flowers have a special value to honeybees and attracts butterflies.  

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance.  Rust may occur.  Watch for powdery mildew and leaf spot.  Can be an aggressive spreader in optimum conditions.
LANDSCAPE USES:  Accents or Group Plantings, Borders, Naturalized Areas, Wildlife Garden, Rock Gardens, and Containers.

COMPANION PLANTS: Verbena, Stonecrop, Fountain Grass
